Olympique Lyonnais cruised into their third straight UEFA Women's Champions League final with a goalless draw at 1. FFC Turbine Potsdam.

Lyon did the hard work in the first leg, winning 5-1 on home soil, and secured their progress with minimal fuss despite the 60th-minute dismissal of Élodie Thomis. The holders will defend their title against 1. FFC Frankfurt in Munich on 17 May.

Lyon coach Patrice Lair made one change from the first leg, with Thomis replacing Lara Dickenmann. The pacy striker came close to making an immediate impact, but her shot from 15 metres out went narrowly over after less than a minute. Thomis was a constant threat in the opening stages, but Turbine soon settled down themselves, Patricia Hanebeck forcing a Sarah Bouhaddi save on ten minutes.

Thomis had another chance when she ran onto a long pass from Camille Abily, only for her low shot to travel wide. Needing four goals, Potsdam started to press yet were unable to conjure a breakthrough. Lyon were forced into an early defensive change, Laura Georges replacing Sabrina Viguier, and the French side almost went in front soon after when Eugénie Le Sommer forced Alyssa Naeher into action.

Turbine's two half-time changes nearly paid off, with substitute Genoveva Añonma having an effort cleared off the line by Corine Franco. The hosts continued to push hard and again went close to a reward when Isabel Kerschowski's free-kick struck the bar. Thomis was dismissed on the hour and Lyon again found themselves on the back foot, though Bouhaddi came to their rescue once again by keeping out Añonma and Kerschowski.

Time was against Turbine but they remained a threat, Hanebeck's shot cleared off the line by visiting captain Sonia Bompastor. Lyon needed only to preserve their advantage but nearly completed the job in style through Rosana, before Potsdam's frustration was compounded when Yuki Nagasato struck the woodwork late on.
