Our support

UEFA Together

By exchanging knowledge and expertise of UEFA and its member associations with our five sister confederations and their associations, UEFA Together contributes to the global development of football.

Programme goals

UEFA Together shares the experience and know-how of UEFA and our member associations outside of Europe.

By working closely with our five sister confederations and FIFA, Together builds on existing collaborations with the AFC (Asia), CAF (Africa), Concacaf (North and Central America), CONMEBOL (South America) and the OFC (New Zealand and South Pacific island nations). This strengthens ties between member associations across all six continents.

How Together works

The programme offers strategic development and direct funding support across three main areas:

Shared goals

Three-year collaborations between UEFA and our sister confederations, focusing on key areas of football development with measurable impact. The partnerships are in line with the confederations’ own strategic objectives.

Developing youth football

Together offers young players the chance to develop their skills through exposure to different playing styles and cultures, promoting their personal development on and off the pitch.

This is achieved by bringing together national teams from different continents to participate in UEFA Under-16 development tournaments for boys and girls. For many participants, it offers a first taste of international football.

Together also organises youth tournaments, inviting men’s and women’s teams from across the world to compete in eight-team Under-18 competitions. They provide elite youth talent with vital experience of high-intensity, competitive, international tournament football.

In addition to this, players and staff are provided with educational opportunities and cultural sessions and tours to broaden their horizons and create lasting ties with other teams and host communities. The tournaments aim to create an environment where the participants also learn from one another and develop meaningful connections through football, fun and friendship.

Knowledge exchange

Together uses UEFA events as knowledge-sharing platforms that provide the opportunity for new strategic partnerships to be created between Europe's national football associations and members from the other confederations. For example:

UEFA Women’s Champions League final 2024: we organised workshops with five AFC member associations focusing on women’s football development.

UEFA EURO 2024: we staged a series of workshops with the confederations and their regional association members on various topics including football management and coach education.

Supporting national association partnerships

Together encourages UEFA's member associations to work with their counterparts across all six confederations on football development initiatives. Examples include:

Norwegian Football Federation (NFF): organising football festivals in Jordan for Syrian and Palestinian refugees

Swedish Football Association (SvFF): working with the All India Football Federation to support women’s football development and promote female empowerment.

The Football Association (England): supporting the general secretary executive programme with eight OFC member associations in Auckland.

Kazakhstan Football Federation (KFF): organising the Under-19 women’s Zhuldyz Summer Cup with Uzbekistan & Kyrgyzstan.
