Robert Jarni has been unveiled as the UEFA Futsal EURO 2012 tournament ambassador at the finals draw in Zagreb.
Jarni, one of a select few to have represented his nation in both football and futsal, switched to the small-sided sport in 2002 and was capped twice by Croatia as well as winning honours with perennial national champions MNK Split.
In his football career he represented Yugoslavia seven times and Croatia on 81 occasions, playing at three FIFA World Cups including the run to the 1998 semi-finals, having won the 1987 FIFA U-20 World Cup. At club level Jarni began with HNK Hajduk Split and went on to play in Italy, Spain and Greece, including at Juventus and Real Madrid CF.
Speaking at the draw, Jarni said: "I was lucky after finishing my football career, I was invited to play futsal. I fell in love with the sport and played for five years. I played for Split, made it to the national team, played in the UEFA Futsal Cup and was able to meet some great players."
UEFA Futsal EURO 2012 runs from 31 January to 11 February in Zagreb and Split.
