Club Brugge KV recovered from European elimination to make it 14 wins from 16 games.

Club Brugge KV continue to dominate the Belgian First Division after wrapping up their 14th win in 16 league games with a 3-1 victory at KFC Germinal Beerschot Antwerpen.

Comfortable win
Goals from Gert Verheyen, Nastja Ceh and Serhiy Serebrennikov sealed the three points for the visitors, who recovered well from the disappointment of being knocked of the UEFA Cup by VfB Stuttgart in midweek.

De Cock involved
Brugge opened the scoring in the 16th minute, when Olivier De Cock found Verheyen unmarked, and he made no mistake. However, they had to wait until the 59th minute to extend their advantage, with De Cock again involved, as his initial shot was saved but rebounded to Ceh, who made it 2-0 .

Serebrennikov on target
The home side came back into the game three minutes later, when Vinko Marinovic crossed for Paul Kpaka to shoot past Sandy Martens in the Brugge goal. However, the game was over 14 minutes from time, as Serebrennikov exchanged passes with Verheyen before shooting low into the corner to make it 3-1.

Anderlecht comeback
RSC Anderlecht were forced to come from behind to see off a spirited RAA Louviéroise, who took the lead through Ricardo Magro three minutes before half-time. Anderlecht recovered after the interval, and goals from Walter Baseggio and Aruna Dindane sealed a 2-1 win for the away side, who remain eleven points behind the leaders.

Sint-Truiden beaten
Anderlecht’s win moved them into second place, as K. Sint Truidense VV suffered a 1-0 home defeat by KRC Genk, a single goal from the prolific Wesley Sonck separating the sides. Sporting Lokeren St-Niklaas Waaslan were also frustrated as they were held 1-1 at home by K. Lierse SK, and had Arnar Gretarsson to thank for a late equaliser that earned a point.

Standard recover
R. Standard de Liège also had to come from a goal down to beat KAA Gent 4-1. The away side took a surprise lead through Alexandros Kaklamanos, but Standard soon levelled through Johan Walem, and two goals from Ali Lukunku and one from Jonathan Walasiak sealed a comfortable win.

Late winner
Elsewhere, a goal two minutes from time by Steve Dugardein proved to be enough for R. Excelsior Mouscron as they won 2-1 at KVC Westerlo, while KSK Beveren secured a comfortable 3-0 home win over bottom side R. Charleroi SC.

Mechelen lose
Meanwhile, new KV Mechelen coach Alex Czerniatynski saw his side defeated 2-0 by R. Antwerp FC, while struggling KFC Lommelse SK were beaten 1-0 at home by R. AEC Mons.
