FC Torpedo Kutaisi were held to a 1-1 draw by FC Merani-91 Tbilisi on Sunday but stay three points clear at the top of the Georgian Premier League after rivals FC Lokomotiv Tbilisi also drew.

Bajelidze on target
Torpedo took the lead in the 40th minute when Levan Bajelidze fired the ball home, but their hosts equalised through Zviad Kutatedlaze with seven minutes remaining. Second-placed Lokomotiv failed to capitalise on the leaders' second successive 1-1 draw, as they were held to a goalless draw by rock-bottom FC Samgurali Tskaltubo.

Batumi close gap
FC Dinamo Batumi narrowed the gap on the top two to nine points after grabbing a late 1-0 win over FC Gorda Rustavi, thanks to Vitali Darchidze's 85th-minute strike.

Five-star Dinamo
FC Dinamo Tbilisi moved up to fourth after beating FC Kolkheti-1913 Poti 2-0, with a goal in each half from Lado Burduli and Giorgi Shashiashvili. FC WIT Georgia Tbilisi were too strong for FC Guria Lanchkhuti, winning 5-0 at the Shevardeni stadium. Levan Gochashvili scored twice, while Oleg Gvelesiani, Kakhaber Tsutsunava, and Giorgi Adamia added to WIT's impressive tally.

Easy ride
