FC København took another step towards retaining their Superligaen title on Wednesday.

FC København took another step towards retaining their league title tonight after they recorded a 2-1 win over Vejle BK to move level on points with leaders Brøndby IF in the Danish Superligean.

Look behind you
Brøndby, who could only draw 1-1 at Viborg FF, held a ten-point lead over København when the season resumed after the winter break. But with only three games left, Brøndby's fans must be fearing the worst after seeing their team slowly squander what was a huge advantage.

Red card
København got off to a slow start in the Parken and could not impose themselves on the game until Vejle defender Klaus Eskildsen was sent off early in the second half after picking up a second yellow card.

Own goal
The hosts finally took the lead in the 62nd minute through Christian Keller's own goal, the defender chesting the ball past his goalkeeper Jesper Christiansen. Vejle equalised five minutes later when Kern Lyhne hammered a shot past København keeper Magnius Kihlstedt after a corner. And just three minutes elapsed before the home side were ahead again, Todi Jónsson making no mistake when put through on goal.

Krogh to the rescue
Brøndby took a 29th-minute lead against Viborg through Thomas Lindrup. But the league leaders were denied all three points when Søren Frederiksen volleyed in the equaliser just four minutes later. Viborg could have snatched a win when Sasho Petrovski was put through on goal in injury time, but veteran keeper Mogens Krogh managed to keep the Australian striker out.

Five-star win
Kasper Dalgas netted a neat hat-trick for Odense BK as they lifted themselves up to fourth in the table with a 5-0 win over relegation-threatened AGF Åarhus. Dalgas scored after seven, 49 and 51 minutes to take his tally for the season to 22, and further strikes from Søren Berg (59) and Sune Heilbo (89) capped a five-star display.

Hero Sule
A solitary goal by Akademisk Boldklub striker Abdul Sule handed the capital club a 1-0 win over Aalborg BK. Nigerian Sule converted Michael Johansen's cross after just seven minutes. In the night's remaining fixtures, FC Midtjylland came out on top against local rivals Silkeborg IF, winning 3-2, while Esbjerg fB recorded a 2-0 win at Lyngby FC.
