Article body
Odense BK have appointed Uffe Pedersen as their new coach for next season’s Danish Superleague and UEFA Cup campaigns.
Two-year deal
Pedersen, who will replace Troels Bech, has agreed a two-year contract at the Odense Idrætspark. He was previously assistant coach at the club. Bech has left Odense to take charge at FC Midtjylland.
'Competent and experienced'
Odense director of sport Lars Hogh was convinced Pedersen’s knowledge of the team made him the obvious choice. “It's only natural that we are presenting Uffe Pedersen as our new head coach,” he said. “Uffe is a competent and experienced coach, who we are happy to extend our co-operation with.''
Respectable campaign
Odense will play in the UEFA Cup after winning the DONG Cup in 2001/02. They had a respectable league campaign, too, finishing in sixth place. Pedersen will inherit a strong side that includes Denmark’s joint top scorer in Kaspar Dalgas, who fired home 22 goals.
