Defending champions Club Brugge KV got their season off to a winning start by winning 2-1 away at RAA Louviéroise today.

Lange opener
Rune Lange put Brugge in front after 12 minutes when he headed in a corner from Andrés Mendoza, but they were pegged back when full-back Philippe Clement brought down Emmanuel Kenmogne and Frédéric Tilmant converted from the spot.

Champions League date
Mendoza struck the winner four minutes after half-time when he capitalised on a defensive mistake, turned and fired the ball into the top corner. The win will boost confidence ahead of Brugge's UEFA Champions League third qualifying round first-leg meeting with FC Shakhtar Donetsk of Ukraine on Wednesday.
