Belgium round-up: Anderlecht bow to Brugge

RSC Anderlecht dropped their first points of the season to allow Club Brugge KV to top the table.

Anderlecht in charge
The visitors stunned their illustrious hosts in the eighth minute when Greek striker Alexandros Kaklamanos picked up on a defensive lapse to score from long range. South Korean Ki-Hyeon Seol levelled after 20 minutes and put his side ahead a minute before the interval.

Gent strike back
Half-time came at the wrong time for Anderlecht, though, and Nenad Vanic converted a 48th-minute penalty to make it 2-2.

Plain sailing for Brugge
Club Brugge KV made it four wins from four to edge clear at the top of the table with a routine 4-0 home victory against KV Mechelen. Timmy Simons struck first from the penalty spot on 14 minutes before the visitors' Luis Guadeloupe was shown a red card ten minutes later.

Numerical superiority
Andrés Mendoza doubled the advantage seven minutes before the break and the second half was plain sailing for the hosts. New boy Alin Stoica registered his first goal for the club on 85 minutes before Tim Smolders rounded things off seconds later.

Lierse flounder
K. Lierse SK went down 1-0 at home to KVC Westerlo after Stijn Vlaminck crashed in an 81st-minute free-kick, while Cedric Roussel's 79th-minute strike helped R. AEC Mons overcome R. Standard de Liège.

Six for Sint Truidense
K. Sint Truidense VV went goal crazy at home to KSK Beveren, crushing the visitors 6-1. Danny Boffin, with a hat-trick, Bram Vangeel, Wouter Vrancken and Desiré Mbonabucya were the men on target. Arsène Né headed a late consolation for Beveren.

Germinal in command
Goals from Paul Kpaka, Kristof Snelders and Kwame Quansah gave KFC Germinal Beerschot Antwerpen a 3-0 home success against KFC Lommelse SK. The games between Sporting Lokeren St-Niklaas Waasland and RAA Louviéroise, and R. Charleroi SC and R. Antwerp, finished 1-1.

Sunday drama
In Sunday's only game, reigning champions KRC Genk conceded two late goals at R. Excelsior Mouscron and had to settle for a 2-2 draw. Koen Daerden and Moumouni Dagano scored either side of half-time to give Genk what appeared a decisive lead, but Geoffrey Claeys pulled one back in the 89th minute, and Koen De Vleeschauwer levelled in stoppage time.
