Riseth returns to Rosenborg

Members

Vidar Riseth is heading back to Rosenborg BK from German Bundesliga side TSV 1860 München.

TSV 1860 München defender Vidar Riseth is to return to home to Rosenborg BK on a four-year contract worth €600,000.

Surplus to requirements
The versatile 30-year-old was surplus to requirements at the 1. Bundesliga club and coach Peter Pacult was keen to offload the Norwegian defender. Riseth still had three years left on his deal with 1860 and was one of the top wage earners.

Keen to return home
"After so many years abroad it is good to return home," Riseth said. "It is nice to be a part of a new start in Rosenborg. The new coach Åge Hareide says he will use me as a centre-back, and that's OK by me."

Distinguished career
Riseth has been capped 38 times for Norway in a distinguished career that, along with Rosenborg, has seen him represent Kongsvinger IL, Luton Town FC, LASK Linz and Celtic FC before moving to 1860. Riseth is set to team up with Erik Hoftun, another experienced defender, in central defence for the 2003 season.
