The title race received fresh impetus as leaders ŠK Slovan Bratislava were held to a 1-1 derby draw.

The Slovakian Super League title race received fresh impetus tonight as leaders ŠK Slovan Bratislava were held to a 1-1 draw by AŠK Inter Bratislava in the capital derby.

First goal
Alias Ellery Lembakoali gave Inter a late lead with a 78th-minute goal, but substitute Tomáš Sloboda scored his first goal in professional football in added time. With nine games remaining, the point leaves Slovan four points ahead of MŠK Žilina, who closed the gap with a 2-1 victory at MŠK Ruzomberok, with nine games remaining.

Priceless goal
Žilina opened the scoring through Marek Bažík before former player Martin Laurinc levelled the scores on the stroke of half-time. Žilina had to wait until four minutes from time to win the game, Radoslav Zabavník scoring what could be a priceless winner.

Košice denied
At the other end of the table, the bottom club 1. FC Košice were denied a win at FK Laugaricio Trencín by Václav Spal's 88th-minute equaliser. Trencín had opened the scoring through Pavol Kopacka's penalty before Rastislav Dord and Eduard Mydliar gave Košice, four points adrift at the bottom, the lead.

Veteran on target
FC Spartak Trnava continue to struggle away after losing 2-0 at ŠKM Púchov. Jozef Mužlay, a former Trnava winger opened the scoring, which Luboš Perniš added to when scoring a penalty after goalkeeper Luboš Ilizi had brought down Mário Breška. Finally, FC Artmedia Petrzalka beat relegation-threatened FK ZTS Dubnica 2-0, Ladislav Suchánek and veteran Vladislav Zvara scoring for the third-placed team.
