Extra year for Ramzy

Members

Hany Ramzy has signed a new one-year deal at 1. FC Kaiserslautern but Croatian Nenad Bjelica has left the club.

Veteran defender Hany Ramzy has signed a new one-year contract at 1. FC Kaiserslautern.

Knee injury
Although the 35-year-old Egyptian missed most of last season with a knee injury, the club were still happy to agree a year's extension with the player who joined Kaiserslautern from SV Werder Bremen in 1998 and has subsequently made 132 Bundesliga appearances at the Fritz-Walter-Stadion.

Bjelica leaves
Meanwhile, Croatian midfield player Nenad Bjelica has left Kaiserslautern on a free transfer to join VfB Admira Wacker Mödling. The 32-year-old, who played at UEFA EURO 2004™, has signed a two-year deal at his new club.

Rejected deal
Bejlica had been offered a new deal in Germany but refused to accept the contract after the club asked him to take a cut in wages. He joined Kaiserslautern in the 2000/01 winter break and went on to play 65 Bundesliga games for the club.

Krauss delight
Admira coach Bernd Krauss expressed his delight at the signing of Bjelica, when he said: "He's an experienced midfielder, who proved that he was able to compete in the German Bundesliga. Nenad is able to read the game, keep possession and distribute the ball well. His signature will surely help to strengthen our midfield."
