Germany defender Andreas Hinkel has left VfB Stuttgart to sign a four-year contract with UEFA Cup holders Sevilla FC.

One-club man
The 24-year-old right-back, who narrowly missed out on his country's FIFA World Cup finals squad, had one year left on his deal with Stuttgart, but Sevilla have paid a reported €4m for his services. A youth-team product at Stuttgart, Hinkel made 156 league appearances, scoring just one goal. He has been capped 17 times and is the second player to leave the Bundesliga for Sevilla this summer after Denmark midfielder Christian Poulsen arrived from FC Schalke 04.
