The new UEFA Champions League group stage brings with it a brand new UEFA.com MatchCentre – bigger, better and sensitive to your needs.

Still with live commentary and instant updates from all the venues, our new application has been further enriched by polls, photos and videos. As well as being able to join the discussion in our MatchCentre chat before, during and after games, you can also have your say via Facebook and Twitter.

Our MatchCentre editors will provide expert commentary, context and colour throughout, while reporters at every UEFA Champions League fixture between now and next May's final will bring you news direct from the stadiums. We will also provide flash quotes from players and coaches soon after the final whistle.

As well as up-to-the-minute match statistics, you can also compare teams and individual players' performances during the course of a game or the competition as a whole. Our new tool allows you to follow all the day's matches at one time or just an individual game, and even simply to converse with other users around the world.

You can choose the full range of MatchCentre portlets – commentary, match stats, team lineups, standings, player info, photos, videos, live scores and player comparisons – for the ultimate live experience. Alternatively, you can customise the MatchCentre, including the TV companion mode which allows our real-time data and analysis to complement your viewing of the game.

Accessible via the UEFA.com and UEFA Champions League homepages, the MatchCentre will open at 19.15CET on Tuesday and every matchday thereafter – and from 30 minutes before kick-off when there is an early game – and close at 24.00CET.

We will also run a similar service for the UEFA Europa League, from 18.15CET on Thursday, and October's final batch of UEFA EURO 2012 qualifiers, as well as next summer's final tournament.
