Hajduk cut the gap
Jasmin Samardzic's goal inflicted a third loss of the campaign on Zagreb, whose lead was cut to three points by HNK Hajduk Split. Hajduk kept up the pressure with a 3-0 win at NK Cakovec, where Tomislav Erceg with a brace and Goran Sablic were the scorers.
Magnificent seven
NK Zadarkomerc moved well clear of the relegation zone thanks to a 7-1 dismantling of bottom club TŠK Topolovac. Dragan Blatnjak hit a hat-trick while Tomislav Gondzic, Ivan Jerkovic, Zoran Zekic and Hrvoje Custic were also on target, leaving the visitors 13 points adrift at the foot of the table.
Varteks slip
Elsewhere, third-bottom HNK Šibenik belied their lowly status to beat third-placed NK Varteks. Ivan Milas's 26th-minute strike separated the sides at the Šubicevac stadium.
Five-goal thriller
HNK Cibalia climbed towards safety after edging a five-goal thriller against NK Marsonia, NK Hrvatski Dragovoljac were held 2-2 by NK Osijek, and NK Papuk Kamen Ingrad Venika beat NK Slaven Belupo 1-0.
