Ukraine round-up: Dynamo extend lead

FC Dynamo Kyiv extended their lead at the top with a 2-1 away victory against FC Vorskla Poltava.

FC Dynamo Kyiv maintained their drive for the Ukrainian Premier League title with a 2-1 away victory against FC Vorskla Poltava on Monday.

Early shock
Struggling Vorskla, currently second bottom of the table, took a shock lead inside the first minute through Omelchuk, but the visitors were soon back on level terms when Georgi Peev equalised on 17 minutes.

Bodnár winner
Hungarian international Läszló Bodnár was on hand to snatch the winner for Dynamo just four minutes into the second period. The victory sees Dynamo retain top spot, by two points from second-placed FC Shakhtar Donetsk.

Shakhtar held
Shakhtar were held to a goalless draw by FC Kryvbas Kryvyi Rih after being reduced to ten men for much of the match following Ndjaj's sending off on the half-hour mark. Bottom club FC Zakarpattya Uzhgorod were beaten 1-0 at home by FC Polihraftechnica Olexandria and remain rooted to the foot of the table as Chuichenkho scored the only goal of the game from the penalty spot after 61 minutes.

Donetsk in charge
FC Karpaty Lviv and FC Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk played out a goalless draw, while FC Metalurh Donetsk beat FC Metalurh Mariupil 2-1. Hvilina put the hosts ahead on 39 minutes, before Miklashevich's goal seven minutes from time seemed to have earned Maripul a share of the spoils. Miklashevich was the hero for Donetsk, scoring the winner with two minutes left on the clock.

CSKA draw
In the day's other games, FC Arsenal Kiev and FC Tavriya Simferopol drew 0-0 in the capital, while FC Metalist Kharkiv took advantage of being at home as they won 2-1 against FC Metalurh Zaporizhzhya.
