NK Dinamo Zagreb's coach Ilija Loncarevic resigned after a 3-2 home defeat by HNK Rijeka.

NK Dinamo Zagreb's coach Ilija Loncarevic resigned at the weekend after his side suffered their sixth defeat in the Croatian Premier League this season.

Home loss
Marijan Vlak, the club’s sports manager and coach on two previous occasions, will take over the role until the end of the season. Dinamo, who are in fourth place in the league nine points behind leaders NK Zagreb, lost 3-2 at home to HNK Rijeka on Sunday.

Behind three times
Dinamo twice managed to equalise shortly after falling behind but were unable to pull level a third time. Natko Racki gave Rijeka the lead after eight minutes but a minute later Dinamo scored with fine finish from Vladimir Petrovic who chipped the goalkeeper.

Deserved victory
Rijeka again took the lead in the 67th minute through Stjepan Skocibusic's goal but once more immediately let in an equaliser. Rijeka, who deserved their victory, claimed the win when substitute Rajko Vidovic struck in the 75th minute.
