FK Zalgiris Vilnius won 3-1 against FK Sakalas on Tuesday to maintain their two-point lead at the top of the 1. Lyga.
Two-point lead
Zalgiris are two points clear of arch-rivals FBK Kaunas but the second-placed side currently have two games in hand on the leaders. Giedrius Barevicius gave Zalgiris a seventh minute lead with his fifth goal of the season and Darius Miceika doubled their advantage two minutes into the second half. Mindaugas Delkus gave Sakalas a sporting chance as he pulled a goal back after 67 minutes, but Mindaugas Grigalevicius's last-ditch effort killed off the Siauliai side's resistance.
Joy for Atlantas
In Tuesday's other games, FK Atlantas beat new boys FK Suduva 3-1 to stay in third place while FK Inkaras overcame FK Geleznis-Vilkas by the same scoreline. FK Ekranas thrashed FK Nevézis 4-1, handing the bottom club, who are yet to earn a point this season, their eighth straight defeat.
