Old Lady picks up Di Vaio

Juventus FC have signed Marco Di Vaio in a €26m deal which sends Matteo Brighi to Parma AC.

Prolific form
The 26-year-old Di Vaio arrived at Parma from Salernitana Sport in 1999 and was in prolific form in the 2000/01 campaign when he scored 15 goals in 27 Serie A appearances. He missed out on a place in Italy's FIFA World Cup finals squad but was included for the friendly against Slovenia earlier this month.

Super Cup strike
Di Vaio, who was born in Rome, scored against Juventus in last week's Italian Super Cup match, which Parma lost 2-1 in the Libyan city of Tripoli.

Impressed for Bologna
Meanwhile, Brighi has cost Parma an initial €10m fee. The 21-year-old received his first call-up to Italy's senior squad for the friendly against Slovenia after an impressive season on loan at Bologna FC.

Uruguayan hope
Juventus have also completed the loan signing of Uruguayan international midfield player Ruben Olivera from Montevideo club Danubio FC. The Bianconeri will have the option of a €9m permanent deal next summer.
