More injury woe for Dynamo

FC Dynamo Kyiv's injury problems have deepened with eleven players now on the treatment table.

FC Dynamo Kyiv's injury problems have deepened with eleven players now on the treatment table.

Out until spring
The most serious news concerns Yuri Dmitrulin and Andriy Husin who now both look likely to miss the rest of the domestic season, and all of the UEFA Champions League first group stage. Defender Dmitrulin and defensive midfielder Husin will have surgery in the next week, and are not expected to return until early next year.

Defender trouble
Three centre-backs - Olexander Holovko, Vladislav Vaschuk and Serhiy Fedorov – are all out long-term as well. Yugoslavian midfielder Goran Gavrancic has also joined the Dynamo injury list and joins Hungarian Lazslo Bodnàr in being out for several weeks.

Nesmachny returning
Other casualties at the Kiev club are playmaker Valentin Byalkevitch (ankle) along with Vasyl Kardash and Ukraine Under-21 captain Vitaly Lysytsky (knee). The only good news for coach Olexiy Mykhaylichenko has been the return of defender Andriy Nesmachny, who is regaining fitness quickly after being sidelined.

Leko in
Dynamo have acted to counter their injury crisis, bringing in five players including the club record of €4m paid to NK Dinamo Zagreb from Jerko Leko. Dinamo have also promoted four 17-year-old reserve players to the first-team squad.
