Ankle woe for Kily

Valencia CF's Kily González will miss the UEFA Champions League matches against AFC Ajax and Arsenal FC.

Valencia CF midfield player Kily González will be out of action for two months and miss his side's first two UEFA Champions League second group stage matches after suffering serious ligament damage to his left ankle on Sunday.

Immediate surgery
The Argentinian winger was carried off the field on a stretcher and taken straight to a Valencia clinic after a challenge in the dying seconds of his side's 2-0 victory over Real Valladolid.

Three months
Club doctor Jorge Candel said the player could be out for between two and three months, and now looks certain to miss the visit of Group B rivals AFC Ajax on Wednesday and the trip to face Arsenal FC on 10 December.

Knee injury
Kily has only recently returned to first-team action after recovering from a knee injury sustained during training in September. The former Real Zaragoza player has made three appearances in this season's Champions League and has been a key factor behind Valencia's bid to retain their Spanish league crown.
