Article body
One-year contract
Dundee, South African-born but a German citizen, has agreed a one-year contract with the option of a 12-month extension after a free transfer move. After beginning his career in Germany with SV Stuttgarter Kickers and TSF Ditzingen, the 30-year-old moved to Karlsruher SC in 1995 and then joined Liverpool FC three years later before leaving England 12 months later for Stuttgart.
'The absolute favourite'
FK Austria's director of sport Günther Kronsteiger said: "Dundee was the absolute favourite of our new coach Joachim Löw and we are glad that he joined us." Ironically, Löw's reign as Stuttgart coach ended a year before Dundee's arrival at that club.
Champions League campaign
Löw was appointed this week to replace fellow German Christoph Daum, who led Austria to the domestic double. The club's Champions League campaign begins in the third qualifying round.
