FCK move for Nordic duo

Danish champions FC København have signed Everton FC's Tobias Linderoth and Magne Hoseth from Molde FK.

Club record
Linderoth has become the Parken club's record buy after FCK paid around €2.7m for his services, while Hoseth - who has also agreed a four-year contract - has cost the UEFA Champions League contenders an estimated €1.6m.

'Closer to home'
The 25-year-old midfield player Linderoth, capped 39 times by Sweden, joined Everton in March 2002 from Norwegian side Stabæk IF. But he started only 31 games for the Premiership team, and Everton manager David Moyes said: "Tobias indicated he wanted to move closer to home, and FCK came in with a good enough offer."

'A good club'
Linderoth, who played three matches at UEFA EURO 2004™ including the quarter-final defeat by the Netherlands, said of his new employers: "They are a good club who want to go places. There are a couple of Swedes in the team that I have been talking to, and I have got a good impression from the club." FCK coach Hans Backe added: "I am extremely happy to get Tobias to the club. He is a very strong defensive midfield player."

Praise for Hoseth
Meanwhile, FCK sporting director Niels Christian Holmstrøm sang the praises of the 23-year-old midfield player Hoseth, saying: "Norway coach Åge Hareide has said that he is one of the players his team will be built around." He continued: "Considering the age of the two signings, we can benefit from them for a long time to come."

League debuts
Both players could make their debuts in FCK's Superligaen game against Esbjerg fB at the weekend. FCK return to Champions League action next Wednesday when they welcome second qualifying round opponents NK Gorica to Copenhagen, having won the first leg in Slovenia 2-1 on Tuesday night.
