John van den Brom is the new head coach of the youth set-up having signed a one-year contract, with goalkeeping coach Fred Grim joining him as assistant.
Wealth of experience
Van den Brom played for Ajax from 1993-95, appearing 44 times and scoring seven goals from midfield. A twice-capped Dutch international, he was also with SBV Vitesse, De Graafschap and Istanbulspor in Turkey. The 37-year-old returned to Ajax after coaching Dutch amateur side Bennekom. Grim, 38, was an Ajax player for eleven years, helping them to four league titles.
