PAOK punished with 3-0 loss

Maccabi Tel-Aviv FC have been awarded a 3-0 win against PAOK FC after the Greek club fielded a suspended player.

Louca ban
Cypriot Liasis Louca came on in the 67th minute for Georgios Koutsis with PAOK trailing 2-1 at home, but could not inspire a comeback. However, the midfield player was still serving a two-match ban for his sending-off in a UEFA Intertoto Cup tie for former club Nea Salamis FC against FK Austria Wien on 8 July 2000.

Appeal deadline
UEFA's Control and Disciplinary Body announced its decision this afternoon. No further action will be taken against PAOK or Louca. PAOK have until midnight on Monday 16 August to lodge an appeal. The second leg in Israel is scheduled for 25 August. The winner of the tie will qualify for the Champions League group stage.
