Alarm bells ring for PSG

Vahid Halihodzic described Paris Saint-Germain's 3-0 home defeat by Chelsea FC as a wake-up call.

José Mourinho's Chelsea FC announced themselves a serious threat to the continent's more traditional powers as they brushed aside Paris Saint-Germain FC in the Parc des Princes. First-half strikes from captain John Terry and record signing Didier Drogba had effectively ended the UEFA Champions League Group H opener as a contest by the time Drogba added his second 15 minutes from time.

Vahid Halihodzic, PSG coach
"I think the scoreline is a little unfair. We played very well in the first half an hour and [Lionel] Letizi didn't touch the ball. We have lost confidence and we were unlucky. We need more concentration in the Champions League where any mistake can be crucial. I'm frustrated and a little ashamed by this result. We have all taken a huge slap in the face. It's a wake-up call to the quality in this competition. We can't get any worse than this."

José Mourinho, Chelsea coach
"I'm pleased with the result, the performance and every single player. We controlled the game from the first minute and used the ball fantastically. If we play like this against another team, they will have no chance. Didier [Drogba] was the man of the match. He scored twice. He was fantastic. But PSG will start changing their results. I think Porto and CSKA Moscow should be wary of them."
