Superb Shakhtar lift Lucescu

It is a very important victory. I am very pleased that today we played as well as we did against AC Milan. Our first half was much worse that the second, when we took charge of the midfield and took the upper hand. Tonight my players were better than Celtic skill-wise and tactic-wise.

We are very disappointed. We managed to play well in the first half, but then the injuries to McNamara and Sutton told. Jackie had back spasms and Chris had double vision and just wasn't able to continue in the second half. They are big players for us. If you're going into this type of football you need your best players available. It was obviously a blow. And the first goal that we conceded, the boys were saying it took a deflection but it should have been saved. Now we find ourselves in a difficult situation and we just have to win both home games. And then we will see. The final result is not always about luck and commitment - it is very important to have your key players fit and healthy.
