Serdar the first for Fenerbahçe

Fenerbahçe SK have started their transfer dealings with the arrival of Bursaspor's goalkeeper Serdar Kulbilge.

High hopes
The 24-year-old has been given a three-year contract with the Istanbul side, who will play in the UEFA Champions League group stage next season. Fenerbahçe board member Ilhan Eksioglu revealed Serdar would provide competition for Turkey No1 Rüstü Reçber, who is looking to stay at the club he served on loan from FC Barcelona in the 2004/05 campaign.

Recep moving
Eksioglu said: "We have been following Serdar for a long time. Our reserve keeper Recep Biler has requested a move to a side where he can get first-team football and Serdar will be a good replacement for him. Serdar will serve Fenerbahçe for several years and Turkish football will benefit from this."

Good progress
Serdar had been with Bursaspor since 1999, becoming one of the most consistent goalkeepers in Turkey. Last season, he made 30 league appearances for the club which just missed out on promotion to the Superleague. Of his new challenge, he said: "My arrival will increase competition, which can only help the squad." It is not yet known where the 24-year-old Recep will play next term.
