Olympique Lyonnais have bolstered their squad with the acquisition of Norwegian international forward John Carew.

Third purchase
The 25-year-old Norwegian international has agreed a four-year contract and is the UEFA Champions League contenders' third summer signing after French international midfielder Benoît Pedretti from Olympique de Marseille and defender Sylvain Monsoreau from FC Sochaux-Montbéliard.

European pedigree
The former Rosenborg BK and AS Roma player has already experienced Champions League football during his career having scored 13 goals in 41 appearances in Europe's premier club competition and helped Valencia CF reach the 2000/01 final.
