Schaaf nails Naldo deal

Werder Bremen have completed the signing of Brazilian defender Naldo from EC Juventude on a four-year contract.

Ismäel replacement
The 22-year-old completed his move from EC Juventude to the Bundesliga for an undisclosed fee, putting pen to paper on a four-year deal at the Weserstadion. Naldo will be eligible for Bremen's Champions League third qualifying round tie against FC Basel 1893.

Ismaël replacement
Bremen hope that Naldo will be able to fill the gap left by Valérien Ismäel's departure to FC Bayern München. "Naldo will definitely improve the quality of our squad," said Bremen coach Thomas Schaaf. "He is probably the most talented defender in Brazil. He is quick and he has got a vicious shot."

Personal ambition
Meanwhile, the defender is looking forward to having the opportunity to prove his worth in Europe. "A dream has come true today," said Naldo. "I always wanted to play for a big club in Europe and Werder are just such a club."
