Beasley out of Schalke encounter

PSV Eindhoven will be without American international forward DaMarcus Beasley for their UEFA Champions League encounter against FC Schalke 04.

Hamstring tear
The 23-year-old, who played 75 minutes of the United States' 1-1 friendly draw in Scotland last Saturday, has been unable to train after suffering a hamstring tear. He will miss PSV's trip to RKC Waalwijk on Saturday and then the Group E match in Germany next Wednesday.

Ruled out
PSV expect the player to be out for at least a fortnight, but will hope he can return before the final Group E game at home against Fenerbahçe SK on 6 December. PSV assistant coach Fred Rutten said: "Wednesday's match against Schalke 04 will certainly come too soon for DaMarcus."
