Zenden cut down by knee injury

Liverpool FC's Dutch midfielder Boudewijn Zenden is likely to miss the rest of the season with cruciate ligament damage in his right knee.

Official confirmation
The 29-year-old Zenden sustained the injury in the UEFA Champions League tie against Real Betis Balompié on 23 November and must now fly to the United States for surgery. "Unfortunately it is unlikely that 'Bolo' will play again this season," an Anfield spokesman said. Zenden has made seven Premiership and four UEFA Champions League appearances since joining Liverpool from Middlesbrough FC in the summer.
