Martins signs on for Inter

FC Internazionale Milano striker Obafemi Martins has agreed a new contract that will keep him at the UEFA Champions League contenders until June 2010.

Deal signed
The 21-year-old Nigerian international signed the deal this afternoon at Inter's Appiano Gentile headquarters. He arrived in Italy in 2000 when he joined third-division club Reggiana AC. He stayed in their youth team for a year before moving to Inter for €750,000. Martins has played four times in this season's UEFA Champions League, with Inter due to meet AFC Ajax in the first knockout round.
