Arsenal put faith in Poom

Estonia goalkeeper Mart Poom is "delighted" to have turned his loan stay at Arsenal FC into a permanent move to the English Premiership club.

Full-time contract
The 33-year-old initially arrived at Highbury in August on a short-term loan from Sunderland AFC to provide back-up for Jens Lehmann and Manuel Almunia. That arrangement was extended in December to cover the remainder of the season, but Arsenal have now moved to secure the former Derby County FC player's services on a full-time deal, the terms of which remain undisclosed.

Ready for action
"I am delighted to have signed a permanent deal with Arsenal and am really pleased that Arsène Wenger and the coaches have shown faith in me. I am really enjoying it here and will continue to work hard in training so I am ready to feature in the first team in the near future." Capped 101 times by Estonia, Poom is yet to make his Arsenal debut. The English club will play Real Madrid CF in the UEFA Champions League Round of 16.
