Frank Lampard is doubtful for Chelsea FC's UEFA Champions League return match against FC Barcelona on Tuesday after failing to recover from a hamstring injury.
'World-class player'
The 27-year-old midfielder tweaked the muscle in training with England this week, and has already been ruled out of Saturday's Premiership encounter with West Bromwich Albion FC. That will be only the third Premiership game the influential Lampard has missed in the past four seasons and team-mate Joe Cole is hoping for a hasty return to fitness, saying: "Frank's a world-class player and any team would miss him. Hopefully we'll have everyone fit for Barcelona."
Gallas return
There is some good news for José Mourinho's side, however, as France defender William Gallas, who sat out the 2-1 home defeat by Barcelona in the first leg of the first knockout round tie ten days ago, is poised to return from a knee injury, although he may not be risked on Saturday.
