AC Milan coach Carlo Ancelotti has ended speculation about his future by adding a year to a contract due to expire in 2007.
Trophy triumphs
The 46-year-old was appointed in 2001 having been sacked by Juventus and went on to lead the Rossoneri to the UEFA Champions League title and the Coppa Italia in 2003 and the Scudetto the following season. He won the European Champion Clubs' Cup with Milan as a player in 1989 and 1990, and has also coached AC Reggiana and Parma FC.
Costacurta extension
Meanwhile, defender Alessandro Costacurta, who turns 40 in April, has extended his stay with the club until 2007. Costacurta has made 12 Serie A appearances this term, his 19th consecutive Milan campaign since joining from Monza Calcio in 1987. His career at the San Siro has yielded 20 major trophies and 59 Italy caps.

With Ancelotti and Costacurta's futures now decided, the duo will continue to prepare for Milan's UEFA Champions quarter-final first leg against Olympique Lyonnais in France next Wednesday. The return at the San Siro is scheduled for 4 April.
