Nowotny 'at home' with Dinamo

German international Jens Nowotny said he feels "at home" after leaving Bayer 04 Leverkusen for Croatian champions NK Dinamo Zagreb.

NK Dinamo Zagreb have completed the signing of German international defender Jens Nowotny from Bayer 04 Leverkusen. The 32-year-old is one of the biggest stars to play in the Croatian league since its inception in 1992, and joins on a three-year-contract.

'Best option'
"I am happy to be here. I really feel at home and am sure it was the best option to come here," said Nowotny. "[Dinamo captain] Zoran Mamić is a good friend and the welcome in Zagreb was really great. I am getting to know my new team-mates and I know that many of them are in the Croatian national team."

'Great player'
Dinamo coach Josip Kuže declared himself delighted to have captured such a famous figure. "Jens is a great player and a great person. I needed someone like him and he will not have long to adapt to life here because I will need him on the pitch very soon." Dinamo have been drawn against FK Ekranas in the UEFA Champions League second qualifying round, with the first leg in Lithuania on Tuesday.
