Boyarintsev seals Spartak extension

FC Spartak Moskva winger Denis Boyarintsev has put pen to paper on a new one-year contract with the Russian Premier-Liga runners-up on the eve of their final UEFA Champions League match with Sporting Clube de Portugal.

'No more headaches'
The 28-year-old, whose existing deal was due to expire at the end of this year, will now stay at the club until December 2007 with the option for a further 12 months. "Fortunately, I don't have any headaches on this issue anymore," he said. "I will spend at least one more year at Spartak." The Russian side have to win at the Estádio José Alvalade on Tuesday night to overtake Sporting and claim third place in Group B.
