José Mourinho, Chelsea manager
Shevchenko did a good job. He has a good few years of Champions League football in front of him and he can be the best. I'm happy for Shaun, he is a great professional. Normally I don't care who scores but that's not the case in this instance. I know players' mentality and I know what it's like when you just need to finish the job. This game was the perfect example. We have a big month in front of us and the players controlled their emotions, controlled the game and didn't perform to their maximum against a team that came to play. It was almost like a friendly but we have the three points we need and we are first in perhaps the most difficult group. I'm happy we got a clean sheet, we picked up no injuries and don't have to think about the Champions League for three months. I'm happy with the team because they did the job.
Stanimir Stoilov, Sofia coach
I want to congratulate Chelsea on this win and on achieving first place in the group. They deserved to win but we tried to play good football and, for most of the time, we were quite equal. I was very pleased with performance of the younger players and I thought our goalkeeper, Bozhidar Mitrev, played at a very high level. It was a long awaited moment for Bulgarian football when we made the group stage of the Champions League and we played well. It was clear Barcelona and Chelsea were the best teams in our group, but it's been a good experience for us and has boosted our confidence. I hope the experience enables us to make the Champions League next season and the players are able to improve on their own level of performance and that of the whole team.
