Article body
Scottish champions Celtic FC will be without central defender Dianbobo Balde for a number of months after it was revealed the Guinea international has broken his leg in two places.
Milan doubt
The 31-year-old was carried off late in the first half of Celtic's 2-2 draw against Dundee United FC on Tuesday and is now almost certainly out of the Glasgow club's UEFA Champions League first knockout round tie with AC Milan next year, with the first leg on 20 February. Balde, who has been at Celtic since 2001, has only featured for the club six times in the league this season because of a previous injury problem.
Defensive problems
The player joins an injury list at the runaway Scottish Premier League leaders that also includes fellow defenders Gary Caldwell and Mark Wilson and could force manager Gordon Strachan to move for more defensive cover when the transfer window opens on 1 Janaury.
