United dealt Vidić injury blow

Manchester United FC defender Nemanja Vidić is likely to be out for the next four weeks after breaking his collarbone against Blackburn Rovers FC on Saturday.

Manchester United FC have been dealt a blow with the news that defender Nemanja Vidić is likely to miss the next month after suffering a dislocated shoulder during the Premiership leaders' 4-1 victory against Blackburn Rovers FC on Saturday afternoon.

Ruled out
The 25-year-old Serbian international centre-back, who has made 24 appearances in the Premiership this season, was forced off midway through the first half at Old Trafford after falling awkwardly and will now miss both legs of United's UEFA Champions League quarter-final tie against AS Roma. "We think he will be out for four weeks so it is a blow," said manager Sir Alex Ferguson.

Injury problems
Vidić joins club captain Gary Neville and Mikaël Silvestre on the injury list for the Roma games, the first of which takes place in the Italian capital on Wednesday. Neville has been ruled out with an ankle ligament injury while Silvestre is out for the season after surgery on his own dislocated shoulder.
