Zauri ensures future at Lazio

S.S. Lazio captain and Italian international defender Luciano Zauri has signed a new five-year contract after the expiry of his previous deal with the club.

S.S. Lazio captain Luciano Zauri has signed a new five-year contract at the Rome club after the expiry of his previous deal.

Century of appearances
The 29-year-old Italian international defender now looks set to end his career with Lazio having joined from Atalanta BC in 2003 and since gone on to play 114 Serie A games for the Biancocelesti. Zauri, who took over as captain in January when Massimo Oddo left for AC Milan, will lead Lazio in the UEFA Champions League from the third qualifying round next month.
