Ibson makes parting commitment

Brazilian midfielder Ibson has committed to Portuguese champions FC Porto until 2011, though he will spend the upcoming season on loan at former club CR Flamengo.

Brazilian midfielder Ibson has signed a two-year contract extension at FC Porto, tying him to the Portuguese champions until 2011, though he will spend the 2007/08 season on loan at former club CR Flamengo.

Two titles
The 23-year-old has been at Porto since joining on a €2.5m deal in January 2005 and played a key role in the 2005/06 Portuguese Liga triumph in his first full season. He was a more peripheral figure last term, however, making just 13 league starts as Jesualdo Ferreira's team successfully defended their title to earn a place in the UEFA Champions League group stage. Ibson will not feature as he will be back at Flamengo playing for the side he helped to the Rio de Janeiro state championship in 2004, though Porto have underlined their belief in his potential.
