Rangers FC have boosted their squad ahead of their UEFA Champions League group stage campaign by signing midfielder Amdy Faye on a season-long loan deal from English second-tier side Charlton Athletic FC.

Happy midfielder
The 29-year-old Senegal international passed a medical at Ibrox last night and is excited by the prospect of playing in the UEFA Champions League where Rangers will face FC Barcelona, Olympique Lyonnais and VfB Stuttgart in Group E. "I am looking forward to this new challenge and I hope we can make the deal longer," said Faye, who played in the group stage with AJ Auxerre in 2002/03. "The thought of playing in the UEFA Champions League and with a club as big as Rangers was too much for me to resist. This is a good move for me and I want to do everything I can do help Rangers enjoy the UEFA Champions League."
