No surgery
The 33-year-old Croatian international was hurt during a practice session on Monday and tests today confirmed his absence for at least ten weeks. One positive is that Butina will not require surgery, with physiotherapy deemed the best way to treat the problem.

Sifakis hope
Olympiacos are hoping for special UEFA dispensation to replace the injured goalkeeper in their squad for the UEFA Champions League group stage. Subject to approval, the 23-year-old Michalis Sifakis, an Under-21 international signed on loan from OFI Crete last month, will be added in Butina's place as a possible alternative to the established No1 Antonios Nikopolidis. Olympiacos begin their Group C campaign a week today at home against S.S. Lazio.
