Defensive problems
Milevskiy admitted the fans that booed the Ukrainian champions at the final whistle following their 2-1 home defeat against Sporting Clube de Portugal had a right to feel disappointed. "We failed to do any of the things that we planned to do," said the 22-year-old Ukrainian international. "We had a lot of problems in defence and every time Sporting had a set-piece it created danger in front of our goal. I cannot say we created enough chances to win the match."
No explanation
Dynamo, who were beaten 2-0 by AS Roma two weeks ago, fell behind on 14 minutes when Tonel opened the scoring and despite Vladyslav Vaschuk's equaliser (28) a goal from Anderson Polga seven minutes before half-time proved decisive. A disappointed Milevskiy added: "I do not know how to explain a performance like this from our team. All we can do is analyse the Sporting match and try to make amends in front of the fans in the fixtures coming up."
'Shocked'
The result left Dynamo languishing at the bottom of Group F as the only team in the pool without a point so far. "It is much more painful because Sporting did not perform at the level we expected," continued Milevskiy. "We had to show much more quality and be more agressive. It was a very important match, but we failed to follow our coach's orders. I am shocked like many of my team-mates." Dynamo now face a crunch double-header against section leaders Manchester United FC if they want to revive their hopes of qualifying for the next phase, starting with a home game on 23 October before the return at Old Trafford on 7 November.
