Arsenal FC midfielder Aleksandr Hleb has been ruled out for three weeks after picking up a hamstring injury on international duty with Belarus.
Two matches
The 26-year-old came off at half-time in his country's shock 2-1 UEFA EURO 2008™ qualifying win against the Netherlands in Minsk on Wednesday, and is now unlikely to play in the upcoming UEFA Champions League games against Sevilla FC, on 27 November, and FC Steaua Bucureşti on 12 December. The Premier League side have already secured their place in the knockout stage.
Flamini trouble
"Hleb came back with a hamstring injury," Arsenal manager Arsène Wenger said. "So once again we lose someone during this [international] period. I think he'll be out for 21 days." Wenger added that another midfielder, Mathieu Flamini, returned from the France squad with a thigh problem that would rule him out of Saturday's Premier League match at home to Wigan Athletic FC.
