Benítez lifted as Liverpool find range

Liverpool FC manager Rafael Benítez believes FC Porto "will be worried" when they visit Anfield on Matchday 5 following the 8-0 beating of Beşiktaş JK.

Rafael Benítez believes Liverpool FC laid down a marker of intent to next opponents FC Porto after recording the largest win in UEFA Champions League history by defeating Beşiktaş JK 8-0 in Group A to keep their hopes of qualifying alive. It was a result which visiting coach Ertuğrul Sağlam found hard to accept, but one he is determined to rectify with hard work.

Rafael Benítez, Liverpool manager
In previous games we were creating chances but we couldn't score. When we scored the first goal we played with more confidence. The first goal made the game more open, they had to come forward to try to win and put pressure on our defence. This gave more room to our forwards. We know we need to win the next two games to qualify and we will go into the Porto game with confidence. Porto need to come to Anfield and they will be worried. They have got experience in Europe, however, and should be able to cope with the pressure.

Ertuğrul Sağlam, Beşiktaş coach
It's been a very bad night for the team and for our fans. The result is very upsetting for all of us. We would like to say sorry to all the fans, it's very difficult to accept a result like this, but life goes on. We know we have to work harder and we are going to do so.
