O'Shea signs on until 2012

Manchester United FC defender John O'Shea was delighted to sign a three-year contract extension until 2012 at Old Trafford. "I've been here since the age of 17 and it's a dream come true to play for such a great club," said the Republic of Ireland international.

'Personality and professionalism'
O'Shea signed professional forms in August 1998 aged 17, and made his debut the same season against Aston Villa FC in the English League Cup. Now 26, he won the second of two Premier League titles last season and is a reliable member of Sir Alex Ferguson's squad. The manager said: "John has developed in his years here at the club and is now regarded as one of the more experienced players. He has proved through his personality and professionalism he is an outstanding credit to the club and I am delighted he has signed a new contract." O'Shea added: "I'm really pleased to be extending my contract with the champions. I hope to play my part in bringing more trophies to the club and to continue the success with this young, exciting team."
