FC Schalke 04's new signing Albert Streit has trained with his new team-mates for the first time after joining from Eintracht Frankfurt last month.
Knee operation
The 27-year-old midfielder underwent knee surgery in December and has since been unable to take part in full training. "It has been ten weeks since I last trained at Eintracht Frankfurt," said Streit after coming through his first team session at his new club, who resume their Bundesliga campaign on Sunday with a home match against champions VfB Stuttgart. Streit is expected to return to full fitness in a fortnight with Schalke – Germany's last representatives in the UEFA Champions League – taking on FC Porto in the first knockout round on 19 February and 5 March.
